studying HRM : what is selection process?

when you are studying in MBA you have to select one or two subjects for your specialization HRM or Marketing are one of the most selected subjects by the students. In HRM the most important topic is Recruitment and Selection I had already written about the Recruitment now I am writing something about the selection.


Selection for new employees
“Selection is process of hiring new staff for an organization it is also very important decision to say ‘Hire’ or ‘No Hire’ by making this decision we have to select the most appropriate or potential candidate for the job.”

How to make effective selection decision?
An employer can use many tools to make good decision regarding the selection most important of them are listed below
 Interview (structured or unstructured)
 Test (written, medical, IQ , Personality)
 Reference check
 Assessment center
